What is CareerSeekers?
We partner with leading Australian employers to create paid internships for full-time university students who are asylum seekers or refugees. An internship provides industry experience, a local professional network, and insight into career options.
Internships are suitable for full-time university students in degrees that don’t typically require a mandatory placement. Internships last 12 weeks and are completed over the summer university break, or split between the winter and summer university breaks.
Your path. Your choices. Your future.
There is no cost to participants, but interns are expected to actively participate in the program.
Currently, the program is open to students who are:
- An asylum seeker or refugee enrolled in full-time tertiary studies
- Attending university in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide or Brisbane
- Completing studies in or after next year
- Completing one of the following degrees: Science (non-medical), Engineering (all types), Commerce / Business (all majors), Information Technology, Mathematics, Law, Arts
- Fully vaccinated (consistent with the current policies of many employers regarding interning at their offices and sites)
